How It Works

How to Request Workers

Getting pre-qualified workers on your site is straightforward. We handle compliance, vetting, and payroll — you focus on delivering your project.

01

Submit Your Request

Complete our Client Availability Request form or call us directly. Tell us the trade, quantity, start date, expected duration, site location, and any specific ticket or induction requirements. Most requests are acknowledged within 30 minutes during business hours.

02

We Match & Vet

Our recruitment team matches your requirements against our pool of 10,800+ inducted candidates. Every shortlisted worker is verified for white cards, high-risk work licences, trade qualifications, PPE, and site-specific inductions before being confirmed for your job.

03

Workers On Site

Confirmed workers arrive on your site inducted, insured, and ready to work. All workers are employed directly by HBG — not subcontractors — so you carry zero payroll, compliance, or workers compensation burden. We handle everything from timesheets to pay runs.

Compliance Guarantee

All Workers Are

Every worker in our available pool meets a strict set of compliance requirements before they are eligible for deployment. There are no exceptions and no shortcuts — this is the HBG standard.

Site Inducted

Every worker completes HBG general induction and any site-specific inductions required by the host employer before their first shift.

White Card Holders

All construction workers hold a current General Construction Induction Card (white card) verified against state regulator databases.

Ticket Verified

High-risk work licences, trade certificates, and specialist tickets are verified for currency and authenticity before deployment.

Fully Insured

Covered by $20M public liability, workers compensation in every state, and professional indemnity insurance. Certificates of currency available on request.

Drug & Alcohol Tested

Workers undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Random and for-cause testing is conducted throughout placements in accordance with client site policies.

HBG Employees

Every worker is employed directly by Harrison Barratt Group under standard employment agreements — not a subcontractor, not an ABN holder. Full compliance, full coverage.

Common Questions

Available Workers FAQs

Answers to the questions we hear most from project managers, site supervisors, and procurement teams looking to access our pre-qualified workforce.

How many workers are available right now, and across which trades?

Harrison Barratt Group maintains a live pool of over 10,800 inducted candidates nationally, spanning 12 core trade categories. Availability fluctuates daily based on project demand, but our recruitment pipeline ensures we are continuously onboarding new workers to meet client needs. The trades with the deepest availability are labourers, carpenters, concreters, steel fixers, and warehouse operatives. For specialist roles such as licensed riggers, crane operators, or boilermakers, we recommend submitting your request as early as possible to secure the best match. Our team can provide a real-time availability snapshot for your specific trade and region within hours of your enquiry.

Is there a minimum booking period or minimum number of workers?

There is no minimum contract term and no minimum headcount requirement. You can engage a single labourer for one day or a crew of 50 tradespeople for a 12-month project. Casual employees under the Building and Construction General On-site Award are entitled to a minimum engagement of four hours per shift, which is reflected in our charge rates. Beyond that minimum engagement, you only pay for hours worked. We do not charge cancellation fees provided we receive reasonable notice — typically before 6:00 am on the day of the booking. This flexibility makes labour hire through HBG significantly more cost-effective than maintaining a permanent workforce for project-based demand.

How quickly can workers be deployed to my site?

In most metro areas — Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth — we can deploy standard trades and general labourers within 24 hours of a confirmed request. Same-day deployment is often possible for requests received before midday. More specialist roles such as licensed riggers, advanced scaffolders, crane operators, or boilermakers may require 48 to 72 hours depending on availability in your region. Our 24/7 operations team handles urgent and after-hours requests, so you are never left waiting if a no-show occurs or project requirements change overnight. Call us on 1300 HBG 24/7 for time-critical deployments.

What compliance documentation do you provide to host employers?

For every worker deployed to your site, HBG provides a comprehensive compliance pack that includes a copy of the worker's white card, relevant high-risk work licences, trade qualifications, right-to-work verification, current PPE checklist, and evidence of drug and alcohol screening. We also supply certificates of currency for our $20 million public liability, workers compensation, and professional indemnity insurance policies. Site-specific induction records are maintained and available on request. All documentation is stored digitally in our compliance management system and can be provided in bulk for audit purposes. Our compliance team conducts regular audits to ensure no expired or non-compliant documentation enters circulation.

How is pricing structured for labour hire workers?

Charge rates are calculated based on the applicable Modern Award classification for the role, including base hourly rates, casual loading at 25 percent, any applicable site allowances (multi-storey, confined space, first aid, travel), plus penalty rates for overtime, weekends, and public holidays. We provide transparent rate cards so you know exactly what you are paying for — there are no hidden margins or undisclosed fees. Rates vary by trade, classification level, and region. For a detailed rate card tailored to your project, submit a request through our Client Availability form or contact your HBG account manager directly. Volume and long-term placement discounts are available for larger engagements.
