Award minimum rates are the legal floor below which no Australian employer may pay. As at 1 July 2024, a Construction Labourer (CW1, MA000020) earns a minimum of $29.74/hr; a Manufacturing Entry Level worker (C14, MA000010) earns $24.73/hr; and a Senior Building Tradesperson (CW8, MA000020) earns $39.58/hr. Labour hire agencies supplying workers to a host employer must pay the applicable host employer award rate where it exceeds the Labour Hire Award floor (Fair Work Act 2009, s15A).
